Crowns, veneers and bridges
Dental bridges, veneers and crowns, known by many patients as dental caps, are functional solutions that, in many cases, also restore the esthetics of the teeth.
Dental Crowns
A type of dental restoration that completely covers or encloses a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often necessary when a large cavity threatens the health of a tooth. They are usually bonded to the tooth with a dental cement.
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are mainly used for esthetic treatments and are bonded to the vestibular part of the tooth after a small amount of wear, if necessary, on the surface of the tooth enamel. These thin films are used to improve esthetics and give a more harmonious appearance to the smile. They are also useful in correcting diastemas.
Dental Bridges
A bridge is composed of two or more crowns that function as abutments to support the pontics that will replace the missing teeth (edentulous space).
Bridges are necessary not only for esthetic reasons, but also because a missing tooth causes problems with the displacement of adjacent and antagonist teeth. Tooth loss also makes chewing and speaking difficult, especially when teeth are missing in the front or back of the mouth.
